Michelle Gomez to leave the role of Missy

Overnight, the Radio Times has confirmed that Michelle Gomez will leave the role of Missy at the end of this series. With Peter Capaldi and Steven Moffat leaving at the end of this season, Gomez decided if they are leaving, she would leave as well. Big Finish to release Torchwood Series 5: Aliens Among Us

Overnight, Big Finish have confirmed that they will be releasing series 5 of Torchwood. The series is under the banner ‘Aliens Among Us’. Mind Bending 3D Illusion in Sydney

From 10am – 2pm on the 13th of April, Outside the Dendy Cinema at Circular Quay to celebrate the debut of Doctor Who series 10 on ABC and iview, BBC Worldwide is unveiling a mind-bending 3D illusion at one of Sydney’s most iconic locations. John Simm to return to Doctor Who

Overnight, the BBC has confirmed that John Simm, will return to the role of playing the Master in series 10. Last seen as the Master in the 2010 New Year’s story – The End of Time, Simm has been quoted as saying: “I can confirm that it’s true, thanks to the power of time travel I’m back. It’s always a pleasure to work with this great team of people and I can’t wait for you all to see what the Master gets up to in the next series.”

New companion Bill Potts is openly gay, and it “shouldn’t be a big deal”

The BBC has announced that the new companion to the Twelfth Doctor, Bill Potts, will be an openly gay woman. The news will apparently be revealed in Bill’s second line of dialogue in the opening episode, The Pilot, to be shown on ABC on 16 April and in selected cinemas. Speaking about the revelation, Mackie said her character’s sexuality “shouldn’t be a big deal”. “[Being gay] is not the main thing that defines her character – it’s something that’s part of her and something that she’s very happy and very comfortable with,” she said.
