Season Nine director is an Aussie


Australian Daniel Nettheim is currently directing episodes 7 and 8 of the upcoming Doctor Who season nine. Guest cast for the story inludes: Jemma Redgrave as Kate Stewart, Ingrid Oliver as Osgood, Jaye Griffiths, Cleopatra Dickens, Sasha Dickens, Abhishek Singh, Todd Kramer, Jill Winternitz, Nicholas Asbury, Jack Parker, Aidan Cook. Winners of the prizes for entering the recent DWCA Survey announced

There have been two winners selected from the over 700 people who entered the survey. The selection of winners was carried out at the last Sydney Day Event and they are:- Josh Bolan from Victoria and Andy Cleave from NSW   They each get a selection of 3 Target books. They will  be contacted by email to confirm what books they wish. Congratulations Josh and Andy and thanks to all the people who entered the Survey.        

“The Nethersphere” the DWCA’s new email newsletter

The Nethersphere is a completely new fan orientated newsletter from the DWCA. It is issued to current DWCA club members and is available by email only. The first issue went out on April 12th, if you have not provided the club with an email address you will not have received the issue. Some of  the club’s members email addresses, which the club  has on file, appear to be incorrect and the email was ‘bounced ‘ back to us. Kate Stewart to star in new spin-off series

Jemma Redgrave is set to return as UNIT’s Chief Scientific Officer Kate Stewart in a new spin-off series produced exclusively for audio by Big Finish Productions. UNIT: The New Series will launch in November of 2015 with a 5CD box set, with three further box sets planned in to 2016 and early 2017. LEGO® Doctor Who set to materialise later this year

The LEGO Group has announced that it will be producing a LEGO Doctor Who set. The concept for a Doctor Who set came from the LEGO® IDEAS website where fans can submit ideas for a set and vote for their favourite idea to be produced. The Doctor Who concept from fan Andrew Clark received the 10,000 votes requisite for The LEGO Group to consider it for production. A licensing agreement between BBC Worldwide and The LEGO Group will see the new set available in all of The LEGO Group’s key markets before the end of the year. As part of the DWCA’s ongoing celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who in Australia. The club is running an online survey to gather fans, not just members of the DWCA, reactions to recent and past Doctor Who as seen on television and on all the ancillary material that makes up Doctor Who be they spin-offs, merchandise, events and activities by fans.
