The Doctor Who Club of Australia, on behalf of Australia’s Whovians, would like to thank BBC Worldwide for bringing the Doctor Who Festival to the land Down Under. When the club was founded back in 1976, it’s something that we never would have thought possible. Gary Russell and Meri Amber join Look Who’s Talking


The DWCA has announced two more guests for our special end-of-year event Look Who’s Talking – Part One, to be held on Sunday 6 December at Burwood Library, Sydney. Joining classic series costume designer Alexandra Tynan will be Doctor Who writer, director, script editor and producer Gary Russell, along with self-described “geek pop singer-songwriter” Meri Amber.                                        Gary Russell’s contributions to the Whoniverse span over 30 years and dozens of productions, with his latest effort coming in the form of the Twelfth Doctor novel ‘Big Bang Generation’. DWCA Presents Look Who’s Talking – An Event in Two Parts


The Doctor Who Club of Australia is celebrating the end of 2015 with a brand new event – so special we had to split it over two days! Look Who’s Talking: Part One will take place on Sunday 6 December from 10am at Burwood Library, located within walking distance of Burwood Station. The day will feature all the usual DWCA fun, including games, discussions and competitions. The Return of the Pop Up Shop

Just in time for the Doctor Who Festival, the official Doctor Who Pop Up shop has unexpectedly materialised at Sydney’s Broadway Shopping Centre! For the next two months, the shop will be home to a host of Doctor Who merchandise, including the Twelfth Doctor Sonic Screwdriver universal remote, various Pop! Special General Meeting results

The DWCA is pleased to announce the results of its recent Special General Meeting, held on Sunday 11 October at Club Burwood. The meeting saw four amendments to the club constitution voted in by the attending members, which are as follows: Modify procedures for the right of appeal of disciplined members (Section 12) Modify responsibilities of committee members (Section 13.1) Modify procedures for the appointment of committee members (Section 15.2) Modify procedures for the removal of committee members (Section 19) The amendments can be found in the updated version of the constitution, located at

Doctor Who Festival welcomes Billie Piper, Sylvester McCoy and Dan Starkey

The guest line-up for the Doctor Who Festival just got a whole lot bigger! From 21-22 November, the Festival will host Billie Piper (pending filming commitments), Sylvester McCoy and Dan Starkey, in addition to Peter Capaldi, Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss. The festival will see Piper (new series companion Rose Tyler) and McCoy (the Seventh Doctor) appear on stage in a series of fan Q&As hosted by Adam Spencer. McCoy has already indicated his excitement about attending, saying he is “over the moon”.
